Meet our Rabbi
Rabbi Allyson Zacharoff
Rabbi Zacharoff joined CBH in 2023. She is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and spent her rabbinical school years fostering Jewish community, teaching, and offering pastoral support while working with various congregations and Hillels. She has previously studied and worked in interfaith domestically and abroad, has undertaken various grant-funded dialogue projects, serves as a Jewish representative on several national interfaith dialogues in the U.S., and regularly attends international multifaith convenings. Rabbi Zacharoff brings her passion for building community to our congregation.
Meet our Religious School Director
Emily Winter
Emily grew up learning and loving Jewish studies, and considers collaboration and teamwork some of her most important qualities. She has a passion for designing creative curricula, hands-on programming, and working with other educators to ensure Hebrew and Judaic education are fun and fulfilling. She hopes to further develop and enhance the religious school, to connect students to their own Jewish educational journey that they can hold onto for years to come. Emily has a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Hunter College in Childhood Education. She has taught in New York City public schools, as well as at religious schools throughout New York and New Jersey. Emily lives in Livingston with her husband and son.
Meet our Cantorial Leader
Steve Wetter
During the week, Steve is a portfolio manager, but come Shabbat, he transforms into our cantorial leader. He has led our songs and prayers for more than 15 years. His amazing voice will truly touch your soul. Listen to Steve sing.
Meet our Rabbi Emeritus
Rabbi Hannah Orden
A rabbi with a sense of humor, a warm heart, and an ardent soul, Rabbi Orden cares passionately about our congregation and creating a better world. Rabbi Orden joined CBH as our spiritual leader in 2014, and since then has blessed our community with her special blend of love, laughter, and dedication. She has an extensive background in Jewish education as well as a strong commitment to community building and social action, evidenced in her work with the Summit Interfaith Council, where she served as President, and on the Anti-Racism Task Force. Before coming to CBH, Rabbi Orden was the rabbi at Temple B’nai Israel in Laconia, New Hampshire, and served on the adjunct faculty for Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, where she earned her rabbinic ordination and Master of Arts in Jewish Studies.
